I of course, upon hearing the first syllable of the work “Dinosaurs” immediately began furiously researching WHAT CLASS TO PLAY TO BECOME A DINOSAUR. #Cutebaby kobolds fullWe played in person and didn’t use too many maps or anything unless we were in combat, as most of the story was set on the imagination stage.Īnyways I believe it was our second campaign together as a group, and we were playing the Plane Shift: Ixalan campaign, which is set in a ancient Mayan style “New World” full of dinosaurs and vampire pirates. When I was first introduced to D&D, I had the privilege of playing with a DM friend-of-a-friend who turned out to be the best DM I’ve ever had. But I wasn't going to bring that up after they killed their pet for the greater good.) (In my defence, I had given them some hints that there might be a safe place to take him, but they didn't clue in. The party were sure it was just more raiding parties, so they did some investigation. And then in the next few days livestock started to go missing. So one night, I had the behir taken off by the guard to his secure stable, but then the town got raided, the guard killed, and the behir ran loose into the wilds. They got to a point where it was really getting impractical, it was annoying them to have to deal with the fact that they were under such tight watch in cities and having to pay to have him stabled securely, having to make sure that someone stayed out to make sure he wasn't getting up to mischief, and they were talking about setting him loose, but no one wanted to be that guy. They liked the monster a lot, but because it was also participating in combat, I made it have complications from an RP standpoint that restricted what they could do so long as they were toting him along, because it's a bloody behir. In one of my campaigns, I had the party befriend a young behir.
